HUNGARIAN BLUE POPPY
Starting: Direct seeding ¼” deep as poppies do not like to have their roots disturbed. Sow seeds outdoors in the early spring when the soil is still cool and light frost is possible. Can also be sown in the fall just before the ground freezes. Plants will tolerate poor soil.
Germination: 10-15 days
Spacing: 8-10” apart
Light: Full Sun
Description: Sitting above its silvery, high cut foliage, the striking, purple-petaled flowers of this easy-to-grow annual are followed later in the season by attractive seed pods that can be used in dried arrangements. Seeds in the pods can be harvested and used for baking or replanting.
